The Role
Motion have enjoyed success recently both due to growth in our existing clients and winning new client business. This has generated an opportunity for a capable and motivated marketing professional to join our team and deliver to a range of different clients.
Our customers include a Nordics fibre optics manufacturer, a European software development group, a UK based industrial distributor, a global manufacturer of digital customer transformation technology and a global engineering solution provider. You can see details of some Motion projects on our website and this role will involve working with a wide range of clients from large corporations down to SMBs. Everything we do is B2B.
The role of Copywriter is a key position in our business, focused on high quality written content creation. Working with the marketing consultants, this job role will turn briefs into deliverables through writing content and working closely with the creative and digital specialists. There may also be some co-creation with our senior communications specialists and with freelancers. In addition there will be some customer facing time, backing up the marketing consultants and supporting them in developing clients.
The role will cover working with a range of clients and is an opportunity to learn and share knowledge with our passionate and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities:
- To research and ask questions ensuring a strong understanding of clients supported.
- To understand, plan and action briefs from the marketing consultants. Good communication with them will be key, ask plenty of questions and be organised around their goals for the clients.
- Create compelling written content for integrated customer campaigns – from blog posts, to news articles, case studies to whitepapers, website pages to social media posts.
- Develop and proof customer marketing collateral, including online and offline copy.
- Monitor and manage delivery deadlines to ensure projects are supported to timely delivery.
- Have an understanding of all the aspects of Motion’s services in order to work effectively with the team.
Copywriting with a tech angle is key in this role. We’re interested in what floats our customers’ boats and we enjoy researching it and creating around it. You will need to be technically literate and able to grasp complex technical concepts with the help of your colleagues.
The Candidate
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, well-structured strong communicator, that would thrive in a fast-paced but fun environment. You are likely to have come from a marketing background with a technical emphasis, an agency business with technical clients, or a technical background with marketing experience.
Essential skills / experience:
- Copywriting in a technical or B2B environment.
- Ability to confidently interact with people on both marketing and technical issues, and to build lasting effective professional relationships.
- Excellent attention to detail, with good analytical and creative skills.
- Ability to balance a number of tasks, and work in a sometimes pressurised environment, with strong organisational skills and systems use.
- An ability to work directly with creative and digital teams.
- A self-motivated approach, as well as an enjoyment of working in teams.
- A passion for copywriting and an appreciation of visual content.
Desirable skills/experience:
- CIM qualifications or other evidence of self-progression within marketing.
- Copywriting / campaign work in B2B and technology lead environments.
